With the crazy Carnival atmosphere Mardi Gras is the perfect place to sink some Margaritas or Sangria! The holiday of Mardi Gras is celebrated in all of Louisiana, including the city of New Orleans. Celebrations are concentrated for about two weeks before and through Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. Usually there is one major parade each day; many days have several large parades with street partying happening for 24 hours a day!
Amsterdam actually has a great history of Gin distilling and there are some great places to visit there. Dutch Gin uses Juniper so is quite different to UK Gin types and is called Jenever.
